Our Pastor, Rev. James N. Truax

Pastor James N. Truax entered the full-time ministry in 2002 at the young age of 23. He has served as a Missionary, as an Assistant Pastor and as a Senior Pastor. He preached his first sermon in his Father's church at the age of 12 and knew God was calling him to full time service at that time. Watching his grandfather (Rev. John R. Truax) and father (Rev. James D. Truax) as pastors in full time ministry, however, was a little intimidating to a young boy and caused him to run from that calling for a short period.

After surrendering and serving in the full-time ministry for a little while he was ordained in 2006 at Dexter Baptist Church (the church his father was Pastor of at the time). Through the course of his ministry Pastor Truax has also earned his Bachelor's degree in Biblical Studies and his Master of Theology degree.

In 2019 Pastor James N. Truax accepted the call to move from Arizona, where he was serving at the time, to become the Pastor of Dexter Baptist Church after his Father retired from a 23-year Pastorate there.

Pastor James N. Truax and his wife Carin were married in 1999 and are now happy to be in Wellsboro serving the Lord, picking up the ministry in his father's place. They have two kids, Amberlie (2002) and Elijah (2004), that they are excited to watch grow up, and starting to branch out on their own through college and work.
